What is Uniprint?

Uniprint is a campus-wide print management software solution that allows users to print from either a public or personal computer to a variety of printers located on the Homewood campus.

Who can use Uniprint?

Any Homewood student, faculty or staff with a valid J-Card.

Can I just install individual printers instead of all of them at once?

At this time we had to bundle all of the printers together due to some changes with the Vista drivers. Future release may be able to be downloaded seperately.

Where can I add more money to my J-Card?

How much does it cost to print?

Can I print from my personal computer or laptop?

Yes, if you are running Windows 2000, XP, Vista or OS X and are connected to either the wired or wireless network (valid JHED ID is required for wireless access). Instructions for installing the Uniprint client can be found HERE.

What happens to print jobs that are sent to the printer release station but not printed?

The print job will be automatically deleted from the print queue if the job doesn't get printed after a certain amount of time. The MSEL release stations will hold on to the print jobs for 180 minutes, while all other release stations will hold the print jobs for 60 minutes.

Can a print job sent to the printer from the release station be cancelled or stopped from printing?

No. Once a print job has been released for printing, it cannot be cancelled.

What if I have a problem with the printer?

If you are in the MSEL, you can go to the Information Desk on M Level for assistance. For any other location ask a lab consultant for assistance. Please make sure you print preview your document to ensure your print job looks right before you print.
