Remington Outreach

Remington Outreach is having an info session at 5:30pm in the Commons MPR this Thursday (29th). We’ll be talking about all the different volunteer opportunities we have.  It’s great for everyone who went on the service trip and now are looking for ways to serve around campus.  We’ll be having free pizza and making cookie dough for the kids at homework club! If you are already volunteer somewhere else, it’ll be a great place to come and eat and talk about serving others!
Remington outreach programs: Homework Club helps tutor and mentor neighborhood kids (Monday nights); Porch Art helps children and adult residents express themselves in arts and crafts activities (Tuesday nights); Campus Kitchen Free Dinners cook, serve, and eat with hungry residents (Wednesday nights); Youth Basketball creates a safe and constructive place for kids to play basketball and other sports (Friday nights); Work Trips helps to renovate community spaces (Saturday mornings).

SPRING BREAK TRIPS!

IMPACT

Baltimore: The focus of this year’s Spring Break Service Plunge will be on human trafficking, particularly how it affects people in Baltimore City.  We will hear from professionals in fields that deal with the problems of trafficking and serve with agencies that provide care and support to victims.  It’s Friday-Thursday of spring break, and the cost is $160 which covers food, housing, and materials (scholarships may be available).  Registration at bmoreup.com/sbsp/register/.  Contact Jeffery (jsong34@jhu.edu) for more information.

Wilmington Urban Plunge: The Wilmington Urban Plunge is an opportunity to serve the ministry of Urban Promise Wilmington. We will be working alongside members of this Christ-centered community to tutor children, help with construction and cleaning projects. Come learn how God is working through our brothers and sisters in Wilmington, Delaware. The cost of this trip is $250 which includes food, housing, and transportation.  The trip is March 16-23.  With questions email Sky Prestowitz at skylp8@gmail.com.  Please sign up using this form.
