Climb For Hope
The Johns Hopkins Outdoors Club is partnering with Climb For Hope to help recruit climbers and join the fight against breast cancer.
Climb For Hope (CFH) is a non-profit organization, based out of Baltimore, MD, created to raise money to fund breast cancer research at Johns Hopkins University. Each year CFH organizes and executes several mountaineering expeditions across the globe. In years past, climbs have taken place on such mountains as Kilimanjaro, Mount Adams, Cotopaxi, and Pico De Orizaba. The goal of each climber is to raise a set amount of charitably donated funds, by joining an expedition of their choosing, with the ultimate goal of climbing and summiting a high elevation mountain. The process allows each participant to get more involved in their community, embrace their appreciation of nature, partake in numerous training sessions, such as trail running and extended nature hikes, so that they can mentally and physically prepare themselves for the arduous task of climbing and summiting a mountain, and so that their fundraising goals become a reality.
Please note that Climb For Hope (CFH) is not affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) or the Johns Hopkins Outdoors Club (JHOC). Neither JHU nor JHOC is responsible for the trips lead by CFH. JHOC is only helping CFH to spread the word for a good cause.
