Meet the Clinical Staff

of

The Johns Hopkins University

Student Health & Wellness Center  (SH&WC)  


 

Clinic Physicians - All of the JHU SH&WC physicians are board certified in one or more specialties including:  pediatrics, adolescent medicine, and family practice.  The SH&WC also servies as a clinical rotation site for residents from the Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Adolescent Medicine.  Our physicians serve as preceptors for these residents.

 

 


  

Dr. Ann Bruner, MD

 

 

Dr. Bruner has been affiliated with the SH&WC for over 15 years.  She is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and is board certified in Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, and Addiction Medicine. From 1995 to 2004 she was on faculty at JHU School of Medicine;  in 2004 she officially joined the SH&WC clinical team.  
 
 
 
 
In addition to working at SH&WC, she is the Associate Medical Director at a local dual-diagnosis substance abuse program. 

 


 Dr. Nancy Compton, MD

 

 

Dr. Compton joined the staff of the SH&WC in November, 2007.  She is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine and is a board-certified family practitioner.  She has delivered primary care to families for 23 years, most recently at Fort Meade, Maryland.  Dr. Compton and her husband have two young adult children and reside in Ellicott City, Maryland.

 

 


 Dr. Yvonne Mark, M.D., M.M.S., F.A.A.P.

                                     Yvonne Mark, M.D., M.M.S., FAAFP is a board-certified family physician. Dr. Mark graduated from Brown University and attended the eight-year Program in Liberal Medical Education. She graduated from the Brown University School of Medicine. She also received a Masters of Medical Science degree from Brown for her thesis work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute - NIH Research Scholars Program. Before joining the JHU Student Health & Wellness Center staff as a clinic physician, Dr. Mark worked in New York City as the medical director of the F.I.T. Health Services and as a family physician in a private practice. Dr. Mark is nationally involved with the American College Health Association (ACHA) as the American Academy of Family Physicians advisor to the Continuing Medical Education (CME) subcommittee of the ACHA Program Planning Committee and the Mid-Atlantic College Health Association (MACHA)’s CME representative on the MACHA Program Planning Committee.  She is the 2012-2014 MACHA Executive Board’s Member-At-Large.  She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.  She is the Student Health & Wellness Center’s accreditation coordinator.


 Dr. Kathy Linne von Berg, M.D.

Dr. Linne von Berg is a board certified family physician.  Dr. Linne von Berg graduated from the University of Virginia for her undergraduate degree and from the Medical College of Virginia for her M.D.  She has worked in private practice and for the federal government for the last several years before joining the staff at the JHU SH&WC since 2006.

Nurse Practitioners

 Gail McLean, CRNP- Adult

Gail McLean CRNP has worked in college health for 22 years. She graduated from University of Virginia with a Bachelors in Nursing , then completed her Masters in Nursing at University of Maryland. In addition to administering patient care at Johns Hopkins Student Health center, she is the Summer Program Coordinator and works with the Student Health Advisory Committee(SHAC).

Mary Pearre, C.R.N.P.

 

Mary is a native Baltimorean.  She received her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.S. in Nursing from the University of Maryland.  She has worked for 15 years in college health.  Mary is a member of the American College of Nurse's Association and the Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders Association.

 


  Alexandra Morrel, CRNP

 

 Alexandra is a family nurse practitioner. She received her BSN from Johns Hopkins University and MSN from the University of Maryland. She has worked in private practice for the last several years before joining the staff here.  Alexandra and her husband have 4 children.

Nutritionist

                                                      Diane Vizthum, MS, RD, LDN

                                                                                                                                                                         Diane Vizthum is a registered dietitian with a masters degree in Applied Exercise Physiology and Nutrition from Teachers College, Columbia University. She sees students at the Johns Hopkins Student Health and Wellness Center for any nutritional concerns they may have- whether that is weight management, overcoming an eating disorder or disordered eating, or managing diabetes, high blood pressure, digestive issues, or any other medical condition. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition practice group.


 Registered Nurse

Stacey Berman, R.N.

Stacey joined the SH&WC staff in August 2005.  She received her nursing degree from Towson University.  Coming from North Carolina, she is an avid ACC football and basketball fan.  Stacey enjoys a very active life complete with three children , a 110 lb. lab and a great husband.  Stacey is glad to be a part of the Hopkins team!

 


Medical Assistants 

Tiffany Byrd, MA/Lab Coordinator

 

Tiffany is one of three medical assistants at the SH&WC.  In addition to obtaing your vital signs and assisting with your appointment, Tiffany also serves as the SH&WC's Lab Coordinator and keeps us in compliance with Federal and State regulations governing our lab.  When she is not busy with students at JHU, she has three of our own including a set of twins!

 

 


JingFang Chen, MA

                                                                                                  

Jingfang received her nursing associate degree in China. She had worked as a nurse in a hospital and as a microbiology laboratory technician in a medical school for years. She became a certified clinical medical assistant and electrocardiogram (EKG) technician in 2010, and worked as an EKG technician in National Cardiac Monitoring Center. Now she is excited to become a medical assistant in this facility, which she hopes to be her  lifetime career.

 


Davida Bradford, Licensed Practical Nurse

 

Davida Bradford, Licensed Pratical Nurse, is the newest addition to the Student Health and Wellness Center's family. She is a single mom of one child. She takes care of her mom and loves spending time with her family. Her family is extremely big-her grandmother had 15 children and her family likes to get together once a month to show love and support.
