The Student Health and Wellness Center (SHWC), is accredited through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). The SHWC provides high quality, confidential health care to students of the Homewood campus community.  

 

The health care staff consists of board certified/eligible physicians, nationally certified nurse practitioners, a licensed nurse, a licensed practical nurse, medical assistants/technologists, and a women's health nurse practitioner. We offer a broad range of primary care services including illness & injury, routine gynecologic care, travel consultation and immunizations.

 

 

Mission Statement

The mission of the Johns Hopkins University Student Health and Wellness Center is to support the education and development of students by promoting their optimal health and well-being.

Eligibility

Students eligible for services at the Health and Wellness Center include undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students enrolled in the following schools:

  • Arts & Sciences
  • Engineering   
  • Peabody Conservatory
  • Visiting students 

There is no charge for office visits for undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students enrolled full-time or part-time in the Schools of Arts and Sciences and Engineering and Peabody Conservatory.   Visiting students pay a nominal fee-for-service.

 

Not Eligible

Students enrolled in the following schools are not eligible for services at the Student Health & Wellness Center at Homewood:

  • Arts & Sciences Part-Time Programs (AAP)
  • Engineering Part-Time Programs (EPP)
  • Carey Business School
  • School of Education
  • Nursing - serviced by University Health Services,
  • Medicine -serviced by University Health Services,
  • Public Health - serviced by University Health Services,
  • SAIS (School of Advanced International Studies) - serviced by Georgetown Health Center.  Contact Assoc. Director of Student Life @ SAIS 202-663-5705.

Students on a medical leave of absence are no longer eligible for services at the JHU Student Health & Wellness Center on the Homewood Campus.
